A journalism-passionate graduate student from Roosevelt University, Yujin originates from a different culture in east Asia (Taiwan). In Chicago, as a freelance Chinese translator and Mandarin interpreter, she carries out her translation and interpretation skills with a distinct observatory character. As a freelance Mandarin Chinese speaking journalist, she is also equipped with strong interview skills, unique writing style, technological specialties, bilingual capability(Chinese/ English) and a broad perspective.
INTERNSHIP, COOK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, CHICAGO, IL --- 2010-2010
Worked in the Press Department. Shot videos at press conferences, documented individual projects, and sheriff--Thomas Dart’s official video news release. Edited video using Final Cut Pro, Photoshop. Responsible for script writing, alone with voice over. In addition to sound effect production and editing. Photographed sheriff and Cook County Board members at City Hall and County Hall. Conducted project productions, and interviews, as well as translation and interpretation between Chinese and English for Sheriff’s Police and Chinese Delegation. Researched and analyzed for the sheriff’s website. Sound effect production and editing. Summarized most wanted fugitives’ information for the sheriff’s monthly TV show. Also worked at the Department of Corrections for a month, later on produced a project on the collaboration between Cook County Sheriff’s Office and consul generals from all over the world. Examined CRF ‘s(social workers) working efficiency when completing inmates’ requests. Planned a tour at the county jail for consulate general. Interviewed undercover correctional officers. Generated daily news clips of CCSO.
