Seoul:

The simplified Chinese translation for Seoul is 首尔, and the traditional Chinese translation for Seoul is 首爾.

The simplified Chinese translation for the City of Seoul 首尔市, and the traditional Chinese translation for the City of Seoul is 首爾市.

Note that the Chinese name of the capital of South Korea, Seoul, changed from the previously 汉城，(preferred by most Chinese people), to 首尔.  Note that although the new name 首尔 sounds closer to "Seoul" than 汉城, it is very similar to the pronunciation of "馊了", or turning "rancid", if the speaker does not know how to roll their tongues and pronounce the "sh" sound, as many of the Chinese southerners have such a problem.

So, be careful with the pronunciation (as well as the name you want to change to).
