Certified Interpreters
Provided by Abacus Chinese Translation Services
Simultaneous Interpretation

We provide Chinese simultaneous interpretation services by interpreters who can do Cantonese or Mandarin simultaneous interpretation.  Normally, two Mandarin or Cantonese interpreters are required to engage in simultaneous interpretation services for a conference.

We also provide Korean and Japanese simultaneous interpretation services. Please contact us for more information.

Certified Interpreters

Certified interpreters are interpreters who are certified by a government agency such as the Judicial Council of California.  Normally, certified interpreters are required to pass a written examination and an oral test.  In the oral test, three modes of interpretations are tested: consecutive interpretation, sight translation, and simultaneous interpretation.

Abacus Chinese Translation Services provides certified Chinese interpreters.  Please contact us for more information.

Court Certified Interpreters

Court certified interpreters are interpreters certified by state and federal courts in the United States. Normally, court certified interpreters are expected to be an independent party during a deposition or a court hearing.  The court certified interpreter is also expected to interpret word by word what is said from source language to target language.

Check Interpreters

In some of the complex litigation cases or cases involving patents, court certified interpreters might also be called upon to serve as check interpreters.  A check interpreter is a qualified (normally court certified) interpreter who ensures the quality of interpretation by speaking up if the main interpreter fails to provide an accurate interpretation of a given statement.

Abacus Chinese Translation Services provides court certified interpreters and check interpreters.  Please contact us for more information.

Certified Mandarin Interpreters

Certified Chinese translators are Chinese translators whose competence in Chinese translation and interpretation is certified by a government agency.  In the state of California, for example, the Judicial Council certifies Mandarin and Cantonese interpreters.  They are also considered certified Chinese translators as their Chinese translations can be used in legal, administrative, and medical settings.

We have a team of certified Chinese translators located throughout the United States.  Please contact us for more information.

Cantonese, Taiwanese, TeoChew, Fuzhou, and other Chinese Interpreters

Though the official and main language of China is Mandarin, Cantonese and other Chinese languages or dialects are spoken by some Chinese populations in the United States.  This is why we also provide Cantonese interpreters, Shanghainese interpreters, Teochew interpreters, Fuzhou interpreters, and Taiwanese interpreters.

Aside from other Chinese languages, we also provide Mandarin interpreters who are able to interpret from Mandarin to Spanish, from Mandarin to Japanese, and from Mandarin to Korean.

Abacus Chinese Translation Services provides the above interpretation services.  Please contact us for more information.

Certified Medical Interpreters

Generally speaking, court certified interpreters can provide certified medical translation and interpretation.  Some government agencies provide certification programs for medical interpreters.   We also have Mandarin interpreters who specialize in medical terminology.
