Netfirms Web Hosting: From Service Outage to Datacenter Migration

We were told that the datacenter migration for Netfirms, the Canadian web hosting company, was finally over.  However, Netfirms web hosting becomes unavailable again today for another a few hours.  When are the disruptions finally over?  We have no idea.

On Netfirms web hosting's official website, it writes

Netfirms Community,

Over the course of the past few months we have been migrating your email, databases and websites out of our old datacentre and moving you into our newly built facility. With the last of our servers migrated on Sunday August 1, 2010, we end the migration with the fine-tuning of our new environment over the next couple of weeks.

During this time, some of our customers may experience intermittent connectivity while we tweak our servers for maximum efficiency. As a result, our Support Centre has been receiving higher than normal e-mails and phone calls resulting in longer wait times.

We Thank You for your patronage and understanding.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Pamela at csm@netfirms.com.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused and we appreciate your patience.

Cheers,
Netfirms Support Team

However, with recent interruptions, there is no way to tell when it will be finally over.  Impatient people have already switched to other web hosting companies such as GoDaddy. We certainly hope Netfirms the best.
