Autism and Vaccines are Unrelated.  So, What Causes Autism?

Recent data from US Centers for Disease Control suggest that roughly 1 of every 110 children of 8 year olds in the United States has autism according to data collected in 2006, with boys at least four times more likely than girls to have it.  It is a 20% to 100% jump from the data collected in 2002.  If the data of the next four years show a similar trend, it will indirectly prove that autism is unrelated to thiomersal used in vaccines, which was removed from U.S. childhood vaccines starting in 1999.  So, what causes autism? Please write to us as we want to hear from you.

Los Angeles.  In 2006, there is a 20% to 100% increase of the number of 8 year old children with autism compared to 2002, according to recent data from the US Centers for Disease Control.  Some conspiracy theorists suggest that thiomersal used in vaccines is one of the causes for autism in children because thiomersal contains mercury, a toxic heavy metal.  However, thiomersal was removed from US childhood vaccines since 1999.  If the number of 8 year old children with autism still shows a similar trend in the next 4 years, it will indirectly prove that thiomersal is unrelated to autism.

Thiomersal, a preservative used in multidose injectable vaccines, is an antiseptic and antifungal agent. There is no convincing evidence that thiomersal is a factor in the onset of autism. Despite this, many parents, and some scientists and doctors, believe there is a connection. Parents may first become aware of autistic symptoms in their child around the time of a routine vaccination, and parental concern about vaccines has led to a decreasing uptake of childhood immunizations and an increasing likelihood of measles outbreaks.

More than 5,000 U.S. families have filed claims in a federal vaccine court alleging autism was caused by vaccines, most implicating thiomersal; the majority of these claims are still being adjudicated.

Recent data is sheds light of another evidence that will either indirectly prove or disprove whether thiomersal, which was removed from childhood vaccinations in 1999, causes autism.  If it did, then the number of 8 year olds with autism will decrease after 2007.  The data has yet to be released.

Major scientific and medical bodies such as the Institute of Medicine and World Health Organization as well as governmental agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration and the CDC reject any role for thiomersal in autism or other neurodevelopmental disorders. Multiple lines of scientific evidence have been cited to support this conclusion: for example, the clinical symptoms of mercury poisoning differ significantly from those of autism. Most conclusively, eight major studies (as of 2008) examined the effect of reductions or removal of thiomersal from vaccines. All eight demonstrated that autism rates failed to decline despite removal of thiomersal, arguing strongly against a causative role.

So, if thiomersal does not cause autism, what causes autism? Please write to us and let us know your views.

I do believe it is the vaccines, but I believe it's a retrovirus contaminant picked up in a dirty lab. The autopsy results of autistic children show inflammation similar to that seen in HIV dementia, I'm guessing the drug companies won't let this "secret out". look for xmrv...probably in the hepb shot.
