Los Angeles Photography Gets Chinese Fans Even Though Wedding Photographers Are Affected by the Economy

Wedding photographers in Los Angeles are greatly affected by the economy as many planned weddings are postponed to the next year.  Chinese wedding photographers are the least affected compared to others.  Amateur and professional photographers joined together and formed Los Angeles Photo Salon, a non-profit organization for Chinese photographers in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles.  One of the industries greatly affected by the economy is the photography industry in Los Angeles.  Wedding photographers have been complaining that many of their clients either decided to postpone their weddings or to have their wedding budgets cut.  However, for Chinese wedding photographers in Los Angeles, there are only signs of vitality.  Few are affected by the economy, and many more are joining the field, either for pleasure, or for business.

Although the recent financial crisis has affected most photographers, including wedding photographers in Los Angeles, it does not seem to have any effect on Chinese photographers in Los Angeles.

"Many of the Chinese wedding photographers' businesses are still as usual, as most of the Asians, as you know, tend to save more rather than to spend", says Michelle Li, a director of Los Angeles Photo Salon.  "Some of them even get better, especially according to the number of bookings they have for next year."

"I do not see any change in my business.  In fact, my business is much better for next year compared to this year as I have gotten a lot of bookings already. " Says John Li, a Chinese wedding photographer in Los Angeles.

"I probably have to say that I might be an exception, as I have heard many photographers having less work as their clients' weddings are postponed or their budgets cut."  John Li continues.

So, want to get into the Chinese wedding photography market in Los Angeles?  Think again. "Chinese customers in Los Angeles, like the ones in their own country, tend to bargain a lot.  Also, they normally take photos inside a photography studio and then have the photographer process the photos". Says Michelle Li. "In fact, many Chinese photographers are trying to capture the clients who don't speak Chinese."

"Many of my clients are non-Chinese speaking people", says John Li, an independent wedding photographer in Los Angeles. "Come and see my website www.photobyjohnli.com"

John Yu, another Chinese photographer in Los Angeles, markets himself by taking photos of well know people in the community.  His portfolio can be seen at www.johnyuphotography.com

"It may be hard to capture the Chinese consumers in Los Angeles.  However, we welcome you to participate in our activities of Los Angeles Photo Salon. Please come to our website at www.photosalonla.org for more information."  Says Michelle Li.

Yes, we Chinese are extremely hospitable.
